Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Display name (if you choose to set one in-app)
• Game scores, streaks, and performance statistics
• In-app purchase history (coin packs you buy)

Information collected automatically:

• Anonymous User ID – A randomly generated identifier created when you first launch the app via Firebase Anonymous Authentication. This is not linked to your name, email, or any personal account.
• Gameplay Data – Questions answered, accuracy rates, categories played, quiz completion times, and streaks. Used to show your progress and compute leaderboard scores.
• Device Information – Device model, OS version, and app version. Collected automatically by Firebase for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.
• Ad Interaction Data – If you watch optional rewarded ads (to save streaks or earn coins), AdMob by Google may collect advertising identifiers and interaction data per its own privacy policy.

Information we do NOT collect:

• Your real name, email address, or phone number
• Location data of any kind
• Contacts, photos, camera, or microphone data
• Payment card details (handled entirely by Google Play Billing)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the game – Save your coins, XP, badges, streaks, and best scores so they persist across sessions and devices.
• To display leaderboards – Your display name (or "Player" if not set) and scores are shown on global and category leaderboards.
• To deliver daily challenges – We generate and serve the same daily question set to all players using date-based logic.
• To improve the game – Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us understand which categories are most popular and where players struggle.
• To show optional ads – Rewarded ads are shown only when you choose to watch them. Ads are served by Google AdMob.
• To process purchases – Coin pack purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made and award the corresponding coins to your account.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your game data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database operated by Google LLC. Data is stored in the United States (us-central1 region). Firebase implements industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Your anonymous user ID is stored locally on your device in encrypted DataStore preferences. This ID is used to retrieve your data from Firestore. If you uninstall the app, your local ID is deleted; your cloud data may persist for up to 90 days before automatic deletion.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate Quiz Rush:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Remote Config, Crashlytics) – Google Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob (optional rewarded ads) – AdMob Privacy Policy
• Google Play Billing (in-app purchases) – Google Play Terms

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users.

5. Children's Privacy

Quiz Rush is rated for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app uses anonymous authentication only — no email, name, or account creation is required. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

The rewarded ad feature uses Google AdMob's child-directed settings where applicable, limiting ad personalization for younger audiences.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Ad personalization – You can opt out of personalized ads via your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID.
• Data deletion – You can request deletion of your game data by emailing us (see contact below). We will delete your Firestore document within 30 days.
• Sound and notifications – Sound effects can be disabled in the in-app Settings screen. We do not send push notifications.
• Uninstall – Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. Cloud data can be requested for deletion separately.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), California (CCPA), or other jurisdictions with data protection laws, you may have additional rights. Contact us to exercise those rights.

7. Data Retention

We retain your game data for as long as your anonymous account is active. If the app detects the account has been inactive for over 12 months and the local user ID has been cleared (e.g., via uninstall), the cloud data becomes orphaned and will be eligible for deletion in a future cleanup cycle.

8. Third-Party Links

Quiz Rush does not contain links to third-party websites within the gameplay experience. This Privacy Policy applies only to the Quiz Rush app. Third-party services (Firebase, AdMob) are governed by their own privacy policies linked in Section 4.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app update release notes. Your continued use of Quiz Rush after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
